The institution was first established as a High school on October 20, 1917 in a small township of Baraut surrounded by thickly populated villages thriving on highly fertile agricultural land. It was raised to Intermediate, Undergraduate and Post-Graduate levels in 1940, 1949 and 1956 respectively. At present it is affiliated to Ch. Charan Singh University, Meerut, included in the list of colleges under section 12 (B)/2(F) of the UGC Act, and managed by Jat Shiksha Sabha, its parent body.

Location: Baraut is situated on Delhi-Saharanpur Rail and Road routes. NH ... passes by the college. It is 55 kms west from Meerut and 55 kms north of Delhi. The nearest airport is Indira Gandhi International Airport, New Delhi, at a distance of 75 kms.

Climate: Situated at the western outskirt of Uttar Pradesh at 20°6’ N and 77°5’ E and 226.86 metres above the sea level, its mean maximum temperature varies from 17 °C during January to 45 °C during June. The average annual rainfall is 200 mm, 80% of which is received during July to September. During winter from December to February, there are scanty rains.

Infrastructure: The college has a sprawling campus developed on 40 acres of land near a tributary of the Yamuna canal and protected by boundary walls. There are well-developed gardens, concrete roads lined with big shady trees, spacious playgrounds for games and sports, wel-equipped gymnasium, hostels for boys and girls, guest house, residential staff quarters, canteen, library and a grand yagyashala for havan. There are tube wells for water supply, generators for power back up, college bus for tour and conveyance, and units of NSS, NCC and Rovers and Rangers. Its agricultures and dairy farms are equipped with tractor and other agricultural implements.
